Caps Off Farewell - Grade 12, 2023-24

The farewell party was hosted by grade 11 students of science and commerce for class 12 students on December 23, 2023. It was a vibrant celebration filled with dance performances, songs, and games, creating a fun filled atmosphere. There was an emotional sharing of experiences by the senior secondary teachers and grade 12 students. A thoughtful gift of a candid photograph was presented by grade 11 students, adding a touching and meaningful fervour to the farewell celebration.

Republic Day celebration - Primary

Republic day is celebrated every year on 26th January to commemorate the date and moment when the constitution of India came into effect. With the same cause it is celebrated as the national festival in our institute NIS. The 75th Republic Day celebration commenced with the warm welcome by Principal Ma’am and Subedar Major Vinu M (Retd.). The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by the national anthem. The energetic and enthusiastic students of grade 6 to 12 paid their tribute to the martyrs with a grand parade. There was an inspiring and motivational speech given by Ms. Navika, a student of grade 2. The primary wing reverberated with the rhythmic vocal performances presented by the students of grade 5. The concept of “Unity in diversity” was splendidly reflected in the dance performance by the students of grade 1.

The events concluded with a beautiful patriotic song “E mere watan ke logo”.

Republic Day Celebration- Pre primary

Republic Day ignites in each and every heart great spirit and love for the country. We at NIS,celebrated Republic Day with great zeal and patriotic fervour on the 25th January, 2024. Our tiny tots were thrilled to learn about the importance of Republic Day .

Makara Sankranti Celebration

The school organized a special assembly for grades 1 to 5 dedicated to celebrate Sankranti, (harvest festival). The primary objective was to foster an appreciation for the hard work of farmers and instil a profound understanding of the importance of agriculture among young minds. The event unfolded with graceful dance performances that beautifully depicted the essence of the harvest season. A speech was delivered, shedding light on the crucial role farmers play in sustaining our communities and the nation as a whole. Through this initiative, the school sought to cultivate a sense of gratitude and respect for those who work tirelessly to bring food to our tables. The special assembly served as a platform to connect students with the agricultural roots of our society and foster a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness between nature, farming, and our daily lives.

Pre Primary - Dasara Celebration

Dussehra is a festival that celebrates the victory of Lord Ram over the demon king Ravana. Dussehra marks the triumph of good over evil. We at NIS celebrated the "Doll Festival" with great pomp. The tiny tots enjoyed the celebration.

Childrens Day @ NIS

Children's day was celebrated at NIS with full vigour and enthusiasm. Children came to school dressed in their best outfits making them feel special and loved. A wide array of programs were planned and performed by the teachers across sections to entertain the students in the best way possible. The air was filled with happiness and the students cheered their teachers .It was a day that brought about great joy to students and teachers alike.

Annual Sports Meet 2023 - Senior Section

Senior section sports day was held @NIS on 18 November,2023. Our athletes worked hard, practised tirelessly and showcased their skills with determination.Through the various athletic events the students displayed the values of perseverance, discipline, and the joy of friendly competition.

Together the athletes created an environment that nurtured not just physical fitness but also character building and camaraderie.The lessons they learnt on the field went beyond sports – they learnt about teamwork and leadership.

Pre Primary and Primary section sports day was celebrated @ NIS on 17 November ,2023.The young athletes celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship and the power of teamwork through various drill displays and myriad athletic events.Sports day was filled with excitement, fair play, and the joy of shared accomplishments.



Kannada Habba - Kannada Rajyotsava - Showcase

Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated at NIS with full vigour and enthusiasm.The celebration traced the journey of Karnataka’s formation and the golden jubilee of its renaming.

Students prepared models and exhibits showcasing the rich heritage of Karnataka. A wide array of programmes were arranged by the teachers and students commemorating the celebration.



Kannada Habba - Kannada Rajyotsava

Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated at NIS, with full vigour and enthusiasm .The guest for Kannada Habba was Ms.Indira Sharan Jaladinni. Ethnic day was also celebrated on this occasion bringing in the true spirit of diversity among students.



Pre Primary- Ganesh Chaturthi celebration

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav .It is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and the god of knowledge. The festival is marked with the installation of Ganesha's clay idols privately in homes and publicly in elaborate pandals .We at NIS celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi on 19th September 2023.



Pre Primary - Krishna Janmastami

Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna. He is considered as the god of compassion and devotion and often portrayed as a great warrior. Krishna Janmashtami is a festival that brings people closer and creates a strong bond of humanity. To foster these values among our children, we celebrated Krishna Janmashtami on the 7th September 2023. The day was filled with fun activities..

PRIMARY- BAGLESS DAY @ NIS

‘Bagless Day’ was celebrated for the first time in the history of NIS.

The Bagless Day was organized on 29.08.2023 on account of National Sports Day to remember Major Dhyan Chand. The children from Grade I to V were initiated into many activities like Collage making with newspaper coloring to name a few.

The children were also accompanied by their class and buddy teacher to the playground, to witness the National Sports Day competition.



Primary- Parent Interactive Session on Pollination and Hybridisation

Parent interactive series was conducted for the students of grade 4 and 5.The session was led by Ms.Sony Tiwari .The session had a great impact on the students,providing them with valuable insights into the world of plant breeding, genetics, and the intricate process of hybrid development.



Primary - Library day

Library Day was celebrated by the students of grade I to V on 18th August 2023 in remembrance of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan.The students were assigned to make a ‘Book Marker’. Students wrote thought provoking quotes on it.

352 book markers were given to the library . The children enjoyed doing this activity and were happy contributing the ‘Book Markers' to the library.



Primary - Onam Celebration

Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala was celebrated on 29.08.2023 by the students of Grade 1 to 5. Children and teachers brought petals of different-colored flowers from home to make a colorful flower Rangoli - 'Pookalam'. The colorful flower carpet adorned the portico of the school campus symbolizing peace and serenity in the world and emphasizing that there is unity in diversity. The students were enlightened about the importance of Onam.

This Celebration highlighted the importance of festivals and celebrations in India .



Pre Primary - Onam Celebration

Onam is a significant festival in the Indian state of Kerala and is celebrated with great pomp and show. It's often associated with the return of the legendary King Mahabali to his kingdom.NIS geared up for a wonderful celebration of the Harvest Festival, Onam, with a lot of enthusiasm.

The celebration on August 29, 2023, aimed at educating and involving our tiny tots in the true spirit of Onam. One of the highlights of Onam celebrations was the creation of a flower carpet called "Pookalam." The intricate and colorful design made from various flowers laid out in front of homes as a symbol of prosperity.NIS helped the tiny tots to connect with their cultural heritage.



Primary Eco-friendly Ganesha making activity

Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival that marks the birthday of Lord Ganesh.The primary wing organized various activities pertaining to making of Ganesha with eco-friendly clay from Grade I to III on 01.09.2023 on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

A session for students of Grade IV and V was organized on 06.09.2023.Eco- friendly Ganesha was made @ NIS in collaboration with Vikas Potters.

Students from grade 4-8 participated in this event .It was an enriching and educative experience.

The purpose of the celebration was to let the students stay rooted with Indian culture and to enable them to understand the significance of this festival.



Pre Primary -Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at NIS on October 3rd, 2023 by the students of Pre-Primary Section . Children were encouraged to dress up like Mahatma Gandhi, also known as Bapuji. Dressing up like Gandhiji was a fun for children to learn about his legacy and the values he stood for, such as truth, non-violence, and social justice.



Positive Parenting Session

Dr. B Gururaj Rao's ‘ Positive parenting’ session at NIS Bangalore on 9th September , 2023 addressed crucial topics related to parenting adolescents including communication and trust-building, positive vs. negative parenting, understanding emotions, and handling mistakes. These topics resonated well with parents.

Dr. Rao's use of real-life examples and scenarios was appreciated by parents. This approach made the content relatable and practical, allowing parents to connect the concepts to their own experiences

All the parents appreciated the effort taken by the institution.



Pre Primary- Independence Day celebration

Independence Day is a landmark day reminding us of the bravery and the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. It’s a day to feel proud and remember the sacrifice of our leaders. We at NIS,celebrated Independence day with great fervour.The day was filled with activities which helped the tiny tots to understand the importance of the day.



Report on Independence Day 2023 @ Nitte International School

At NIS the unfurling of the National flag propelled the celebration of the spirit of freedom with great vigour and enthusiasm. The celebration began with the chief guest of the day,the Principal Dr.Susan Sanny unfurling the flag. The march past by the School's NCC cadets added a sense of discipline and respect to the occasion.The event proceeded with the National Anthem, emphasising the unity and pride associated with the nation.

The myriad programme helped the students and faculty to revel in the achievements of our great freedom fighters while also spreading the essence of patriotism and liberty. Dance dramas and patriotic songs invoked emotions related to the struggle for Independence and the sacrifices made by those who fought for it. The historical aspects of the freedom struggle were depicted through the dance drama, offering both education and entertainment to the audience.

Overall, the Independence Day celebration at NIS effectively captured the essence of patriotism, freedom, and the historical significance of the day.



Pre Primary - Friendship day

Wonderful celebration of Friendship's Day at NIS! It's great to see that the school values the importance of friendship and takes the time to commemorate it with enthusiasm.

Celebrating Friendship's Day is a lovely way to acknowledge the significance of the relationships formed among students. Engaging in fun activities during school hours is a creative and enjoyable approach to celebrating this special bond. Such celebrations not only bring joy to the students but also help in fostering a sense of belonging and empathy among them which can contribute to their overall development and well-being.



Primary Sankranti Celebration

The greatness of a culture is found in its festival.To make our children aware about our rich Indian tradition, primary students of NIS celebrated the festival of Lohri, Pongal and Makara Sankranti on 13.01.2023 (Friday).Students were dressed in traditional attire and threw light on the sanctity of Makara Sankranti in the special assembly. The celebration began with the greetings of the season by the students representing different states and performed dances which left the hall in a loud applause .Teachers explained the importance of these festivals to the students in the assembly and the day ended with flying colourful kites..



Pre Primary Sankranti Celebration

Makar Sankranti is believed to traditionally mark the arrival of spring in India. As it is the festival of Sun god and he is regarded as the symbol of Divinity and wisdom, the festival also holds an eternal meaning to it. We at Nis,believe in celebrating each festival with full fervour and excitement. We celebrated Sankranti on the 13 January 2023. Children were dressed in their traditional attire.The day was filled with fun games and kite making activities for our little ones.



Kannada Rajyotsava

ಉದಯವಾಗಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಚೆಲುವ ಕನನಡ ನಾಡು

ಬದುಕು ಬಲುಹಿನ ನಿಧಿಯು ಸದಭಿಮಾನದ ಗೂಡು- ಹುಯಿಲಗೊೋಳ ನಾರಾಯಣರಾವ್.

There is something infectiously lovable about Karnataka Rajyotsava Day, and the enthusiasm with which Kannadigas celebrate their uniqueness which is enough to make anyone want to join them. With yellow and red as the main theme of the day’s proceedings, which were set up as costumes, representing the state colours. The grand celebrations of the Primary wing started with lighting of the lamp by the Principal Ms Rani Sebastian ,teachers and students, This was followed by the State Anthem, recited by the staff and students of NIS.

The beat was controlled and directed by the student group leader with drums and cymbals who were positioned in the center. Slow and fast rhythms alternate and the group weaved varied patterns mesmerizing the audience. The cultural programme included the songs in praise of our state, the folk songs. The major attractions of the day were Yakshagana, Dollu kunita, mesmerizing recitation by the students and vivid dance performances. The senior students of the Primary wing were amazing hosts who kept the enthusiasm of the audience to the brim. The speech by the senior students of the Primary gave us an insight into the unification of our state. It was a grand ceremony that will be remembered throughout the year.



Primary - Children's Day Celebration @ NIS:

"We were all children once. We all share the desire for the wellbeing of our children, which has always been and will continue to be the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind." A day marking childhood- Children’s day celebrations focus on children and their enjoyment. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter, popularly known as ‘Chacha Nehru’.

The occasion is celebrated every year with grand splendor and fiesta at Nitte International School. On Thursday, 10 November, 2022, a Special Assembly was conducted for children with an endearing presentation by the teachers.

The Children’s Day celebration began with lighting the lamp by our Respected Principal Ms Rani Sebastian, Ms Suneetha - Academic Co Ordinator, and Ms Esther- Primary Co Ordinator with our little toddlers for Montessori. The assembly was specially dedicated to the students by their teachers. An introduction about Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru set off the proceedings followed by a power packed performance by the teachers, which included the national, international and school news, recitation of poems, singing and dancing.

The programme commemorated with immense joy, enthusiasm and magnificence show. It was a fun-filled day for the students as they danced to peppy The campus was buzzing with excitement and joy as it was a day wherein fun and frolic dominated. There was excitement in the air and the little ones left the school with a bag full of stories about their special day at school.



Middle Section & Higher Section - Children’s Day Celebration @ NIS:

On November 14, 2022, NITTE International School celebrated Children’s Day with grand splendour and fiesta with an endearing presentation by the teachers. Children were taken from their classrooms to the arena on our school campus to make this day memorable and fun-filled.

The Children’s Day celebration began with the morning prayer. Then, the school Principal, Mrs Rani Sebastian, addressed the children and shared a few words of wisdom. A brief insight into the life of Chacha Nehru and his special connection towards children set off the proceedings, followed by a power-packed performance by the teachers and various fun-filled activities and games planned by the teachers.

NIS commemorated this great day with immense joy, enthusiasm and magnificence focusing on children and their enjoyment. It was a fun-filled day for the students as the teachers danced to peppy music. The campus was buzzing with excitement and joy as it was a day wherein fun and frolic dominated. The variety of games organized for the students left them extremely delighted. The winners of the games felt euphoric while receiving their chocolates.There was excitement in the air, and the children left the school with a bag full of stories about their special day at school. Finally, the celebrations ended with the school’s distribution of chocolate as a small token of love and affection.

Children’s Day emphasises the importance of showering love and affection on each child. It is celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm . Every child cherishes this day as they get to enjoy it to the fullest. We at NiS celebrated Children' s day on 14 November 2022. It is important to remember that this special occasion is celebrated to take Pandit Nehru’s dream of providing quality education to each child so that they can become the future building blocks of the nation.



Pre Primary - Halloween Day

We at NIS, celebrated Halloween on the 31 October, 2022. Children were all dressed in their best Halloween costumes.The day was filled with fun games and activities.



Primary Diwali Celebration :

Diwali is the festival of lights which is celebrated in various regions across India. The name ‘Deepawali’ literally means an array of lights. To get students understand the importance of Diwali, Primary students had a celebration in school on 21st October 2022. Teachers explained the importance of Diwali, the festival signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. The day was marked by a special assembly in the school activity hall. The activity hall had an ambience of joy and happiness. The students showcased the spirit of Diwali through a traditional solo and group dance. Children expressed the joy of the festival through their melodious voice and also delivered a wonderful speech on Diwali. Children of grades 1 and 2 coloured the Diya picture .and 4 and 5 graders decorated diyas with colours and glitters. Both Teachers and students enjoyed the Diwali celebrations wholeheartedly.

We at NIS, celebrated Diwali on the 21st of October, 2022. Children were in their traditional attire. The day was filled with fun games and activities.

Krishna Janmashtami is a festival that brings people closer and creates a strong bond of humanity. To foster these values among our children. We at NIS, celebrated Krishna Janmashtami on 19, August,2022 . Our tinytots added more colour to the celebration by adorning the looks of Radha and Krishna. The day was filled with happy memories to cherish.
